Famous Hackers

Hackers a group that consists of skilled computer enthusiasts. A black hat is a person who compromises the security of a computer system without permission from an authorized party, typically with malicious intent. The term white hat is used for a person who is ethically opposed to the abuse of computer systems, but is frequently no less skilled. The term cracker was coined by Richard Stallman to provide an alternative to using the existing word hacker for this meaning. These are the top 10 Hackers in the world till date, Few has become famous by their Black hat work and few of them are famous by their Ethical Hacking. Below is separate list of World’s All Time Best Hackers and Crackers. Although I represent them by Hackers only because what every they did, was wrong but one thing is sure they were Brilliant. Hacking is not a work of simple mind, only Intelligent Mind can do that.

2. Jonathan James

Jonathan James world top 10 hackers The youth, known as “ comrade” on the Internet, pleaded guilty to intercepting 3,300 email messages at one of the Defense Department’s most sensitive operations and stealing data from 13 NASA computers, including some devoted to the new International Space Station. James gained notoriety when he became the first juvenile to be sent to prison for hacking. He was sentenced at 16 years old. He installed a backdoor into a Defense Threat Reduction Agency server. The DTRA is an agency off the Department of Defense charged with reducing the threat to the U.S. and its allies from nuclear, biological, chemical, conventional and special weapons. The backdoor he created enabled him to view sensitive e-mails and capture employee usernames and passwords.James also cracked into NASA computers, stealing software worth approximately $1.7 million. According to the Department of Justice, “The software supported the International Space Station’s physical environment, including control of the temperature and humidity within the living space.” NASA was forced to shut down its computer systems, ultimately racking up a $41,000 cost.

He started out exploiting the Los Angeles bus punch card system to get free rides. Then, like Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, dabbled in phone phreaking. Although there were numerous offenses, Mitnick was ultimately convicted for breaking into the Digital Equipment Corporation’s computer network and stealing software.Today, Mitnick has been able to move past his role as a black hat hacker and become a productive member of society. He served five years, about 8 months of it in solitary confinement, and is now a computer security consultant, author and speaker.

Law enforcement dubbed him “the Hannibal Lecter of computer crime.”Authorities began to pursue Poulsen after he hacked into a federal investigation database. During this pursuit, he further drew the ire of the FBI by hacking into federal computers for wiretap information. His hacking specialty, however, revolved around telephones. Poulsen’s most famous hack, In a related feat, Poulsen also “reactivated old Yellow Page escort telephone numbers for an acquaintance who then ran a virtual escort agency.” Later, when his photo came up on the showUnsolved Mysteries, 1-800 phone lines for the program crashed. Ultimately, Poulsen was captured in a supermarket and served a sentence of five years.Since serving time, Poulsen has worked as a journalist. He is now a senior editor for Wired News. 6.Robert Tappan Morris

morris one of top 10 hacker n crackerMorris, son of former National Security Agency scientist Robert Morris,is known as the creator of the Morris Worm, the first computer worm to be unleashed on the Internet. As a result of this crime, he was the first person prosecuted under the 1986 Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.
Morris wrote the code for the worm while he was a student at Cornell. He asserts that he intended to use it to see how large the Internet was. The worm, however, replicated itself excessively, slowing computers down so that they were no longer usable. It is not possible to know exactly how many computers were affected, but experts estimate an impact of 6,000 machines. He was sentenced to three years’ probation, 400 hours of community service and a fined $10,500.Morris is currently working as a tenured professor at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. He principally researches computer network architectures including distributed hash tables such as Chord and wireless mesh networks such as Roofnet.

ArkanoiD’s group in 1994 found out Citibank systems were unprotected and it spent several weeks examining the structure of the bank’s USA-based networks remotely. Members of the group played around with systems’ tools (e.g. were installing and running games) and were unnoticed by the bank’s staff. Penetrators did not plan to conduct a robbery for their personal safety and stopped their activities at some time. Someone of them later handed over the crucial access data to Levin (reportedly for the stated $100).

Onel A. de Guzman international hacker el A. de Guzman, a Filipino computer student, Greatest Hacker of all time. He was creator of “Love Bug” virus that crippled computer e-mail systems worldwide. Local time in the Philippines when it started spreading as an email message with the subject line "ILOVEYOU" and the attachment "LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.txt.vbs". The latter file extension (in this case, 'VBS' – a type of interpreted file) was most often hidden by default on Windows computers of the time, leading unwitting users to think it was a normal text file. Opening the attachment activated the Visual Basic script. The worm did damage on the local machine, overwriting random types of files (including Office files, image files, and audio files; however after overwriting MP3 files the virus would hide the file), and sent a copy of itself to all addresses in the Windows Address Book used by Microsoft Outlook. In contrast, the Melissa virus only sent copies to the first 50 contacts.

TRUE OR NOT? FACEBOOK HACKING

HACKERS GROUP WILL HACK FACEBOOK ON NOV.  05,  2011

Message from the video :

"Attention citizens of the world"

We wish to get your attention, hoping you heed the warnings as follows: Your medium of communication you all so dearly adore will be destroyed. If you are a willing hacktivist or a guy who just wants to protect the freedom of information then join the cause and kill facebook for the sake of your own privacy. Facebook has been selling information to government agencies and giving clandestine access to information security firms so that they can spy on people from all around the world. Some of these so-called whitehat infosec firms are working for authoritarian governments, such as those of Egypt and Syria. Everything you do on Facebook stays on Facebook regardless of your "privacy" settings, and deleting your account is impossible, even if you "delete" your account, all your personal info stays on Facebook and can be recovered at any time. Changing the privacy settings to make your Facebook account more "private" is also a delusion. Facebook knows more about you than your family.

You cannot hide from the reality in which you, the people of the internet, live in. Facebook is the opposite of the Antisec cause. You are not safe from them nor from any government. One day you will look back on this and realise what we have done here is right, you will thank the rulers of the internet, we are not harming you but saving you. The riots are underway. It is not a battle over the future of privacy and publicity. It is a battle for choice and informed consent. It's unfolding because people are being raped, tickled, molested, and confused into doing things where they don't understand the consequences. Facebook keeps saying that it gives users choices, but that is completely false. It gives users the illusion of and hides the details away from them "for their own good" while they then make millions off of you. When a service is "free," it really means they're making money off of you and your information."

"Think for a while and prepare for a day that will go down in history. November 5 2011, #opfacebook . Engaged."

We are anonymous
We are legion
We do not forgive
We do not forget
Expect us

“Remember, remember, the Fifth of November” – history buffs (and pretty much all the people who read or watched V for Vendetta) will no doubt associate that line with Guy Fawkes, instigator of the Gunpowder Treason, and a modern-day mascot for the concept of Anarchy. But now we’re forced to do more than just remember the Fifth of November; we’re forced to either dread it or anticipate it – depending on which side you take. The hacker group, “Anonymous”, famous for their acts of “Hacktivism”, has vowed todestroy Facebook on the 5th of November.
They released a video message saying that “the medium of communication we all so dearly adore will be destroyed”. How they plan to do this, they didn’t say. But if history is to be based upon, then you can expect them to literally take down Facebook and make it unavailable, just as they have previously done to government websites and also some corporate websites such as Sony, possibly through a DDoS Attack.

Of course, that’s only going to happen if Facebook fails to thwart them; and with nearly three months of fair warning given, it’s likely that the social networking site will reinforce its defenses. It certainly won’t be the first time that this group has been blocked, as the Israeli government’s Tehila has proved successful in doing so just this June 28 when the group promised to take the site down within the next 24 hours, only to have the next 24 hours pass without incident.
Still, successful or not, Anonymous has already received much attention from the ‘netizens’, and has gotten its message across; the message being that Facebook is not to be trusted. They have accused the company of selling our information to government agencies and giving clandestine access to security firms, firms which work for governments, such as those of Egypt and Syria, among others.
They also said that security settings are a sham and that what we post on Facebook stays on Facebook, regardless of whether or not we delete it. They also say that it’s impossible to delete our Facebook accounts, and that even if we try to do so, the information still stays on the site and can be recovered anytime. This last bit is pretty much true, as you’ll find out if you try to deactivate your account and reactivate it. Whether their other allegations are true or not, however, is still a big question mark.
“Facebook knows more about you than your family”, warns Anonymous ominously on the video, “You are not safe from hem nor from any government.” Anonymous claims that one day we will look back and realize that what they have done is right and that they are not harming us, but actually “saving” us. They closed the message by telling everyone to prepare for November 5, 2011 – a day which will go down in history and, of course, with their signature “We are anonymous, we are legion, we do not forgive, we do not forget. Expect us.”

Boredom

Rain Rain Go away- It's been 2 weeks now since the rain comes.. It feels  that the sun won't come out.
It's so gloomy. I'm so bored and nothing to do but to sleep, eat and surf the net. Hay ..
After a Super storm there's another storm again. You know how it is here in Manila, with just a little rain, roads will be impassable already because of flood. People should cancel their appointments because of heavy traffic caused by floods.  Some families need to evaquate their areas because of floods.

I'm thankful because I know that my family are safe.  I hope rain will stop soon..

Amazing Fisherman survived 45 days at sea

]                                                    Photos from: www.gmanews.tv

What might have been just another day at work for a fisherman in Mindanao in the Philippines turned into an adventure fit for the movies.

Lisandro is a fisherman who lives in Mindanao, Philippines. On his way home, He found himself off-route to his fellows fisher mans (May 03, 2011). He tried to look for his fellow fisher mans until Lisandro recounts that he ran out of gasoline and was unable to make it back to shore.  He had been adrift at sea for 45 days. After of what happened,  Amazing man did not lose hope to return back to his family.

As Lisandro was adrift for a long time, he had to depend on rainwater for his drinking water and living fish for his food. For almost two months, he tried to
cope with the searing sun during the daytime and bone-chilling wind at night.
He saw a big fish but instead of eating it, He tied the fish to his boat to
move away from it's position.

Lisandro’s matter-of-fact manner tells nothing of what he endured. Despite being a fisherman, being out at sea fishing is quite different from being adrift and unprepared, with no ready food, water, nor means of communication.

After a few days, He saw a ship and he waved his arms so people in the ship will noticed him.

He was found on June 18 by a Taiwanese fishing vessel in Palau, some 800 miles northwest of the Philippines.

Lisandro was brought to the Philippine Embassy in Palau, where his documents are being processed.

Time traveller Fake or Real?

I just found this on forum and I'd like to share it with you...
This photo is from SYMBIANIZE forum and posted by: dredzKii
Source: http://forgetomori.com

It’s the short description for the photograph shown at the virtual Bralorne Pioneer Museum, from British Columbia, Canada. The image can be seen specifically on this page (scroll down to the middle), among other items of the online exhibit. Did you notice anything out of place? Or perhaps, out of time?

The man with what appears to be very modern sunglasses seems to be wearing a stamped T-shirt with a nice sweater, all the while holding a portable compact camera!

Internet people reached to the obvious conclusion: it’s a time traveller caught on camera on 1940! Finally, we have proof!

If the story seems straight out of a movie and the photo is in itself a great funny find, the most amusing thing i came up with while looking into this – as an Internet person, on the Internet – was the reply for a skeptical, or perhaps somewhat cynical comment on how spurious it would seem the idea that a time traveler would want to visit the reopening of a bridge in some small town in Canada.

Read this on Doc Brown’s voice: “Of course, because we know nothing happened there right? But if we are considering time travel, how can we know if in some other timeline something historical happened right there?”

Indeed! Once you consider time travel, everything changes. But before writing Hollywood scripts, let’s get back to reality and ask again: is the photo evidence of a time traveller?

The source

As noted, the image is indeed available through the official website for Canada’s museums. It was part of the exhibit “Their Past Lives Here” from Bralorne-Pioneer, available to the public since 2004. It was put online since February this year, perhaps before that. And the peculiar “time traveller” image was only noted as such in the end of March, when it was linked on main websites such as Above Top Secret and FARK.

Given the source, we would assume the photo is authentic, and correctly dated to c.1940. Indeed, an Error Level Analysis suggests the image was not digitally tampered with, or at least that if it was, the author was smart enough to normalize the error across the whole thing. It’s a good job, if it was a job. And again, given the source, we would assume it was not a job.

So, how do we explain the man out of time?

I'm really curious about this photo..
How man can travel from past?".
This is AWESOME!!
at first, I tried not to believe it but when I read, I found it Interesting!

Okay I just want to share more info
about this photo ..

Let’s look again at the photo. Pay attention to the right arm of the “time traveller”: you may realize that the arm actually belongs to the man right behind him. Why would another man’s arm be in that position? Is there even space for such a large, tall “time traveller” to stand in there?

These could be indications that the man was inserted into the image without much care for perspective.
Or perhaps it’s just an unusual perspective, and the arm from the man behind just looks like it’s over the “time traveller”, even touching the camera? Or could the arm actually belong to the hipster traveller?
I don’t know.
If this is a digital hoax, why would the hoaxer insert a man that seems out of place, but not actually using anything that couldn’t be found in the 1940s? The camera is definitely old. What looks like a stamped T-shirt is a sweatshirt with emblem. Why not have him use something definitely out of time, like the logo for a company that wouldn’t be created until decades later, such as NIKE or even Microsoft? It would even make an amazing viral marketing for any company that managed to get buzz from this. Why not?
I don’t know.
Once again, it must be clear that even if this photograph is authentic, even if it depicts a real scene from 1940, it would not be the proof of time travel. Alas. Also, I tend to assume that given the source, the photo is indeed authentic, not tampered with. But that arm, it does look strange. I’m not sure. I don’t know.

“Finally, we can definitely answer one of the questions”, wrote us Evgeny Balamutenko on the mystery of the now famous Hipster Time Traveller attending the reopening of South Fork Bridge in 1941.

“The photo is 100% REAL. NTV Russian television crew was filming there [last week] at the museum and found the original photo in one of the albums. I held it in my hands.”

Kenneth Cole

Kenneth Cole is having fun again. This time with AIDS. SHe’s making AIDS fashionable. Well, sort of. Nothing like showing a hot fashion chic to attract attention and then slapping the tagline “we’re all potential carriers” to repel with plague-like force. Oh wait. AIDS is kind of like the plague and even hot models can get it so we’ll just shut up now and let Ken do his thing.
